Terms of Service — Auspo Scan

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Auspo Scan app (package com.auspo.camscanner, the “App”), published by Auspo Apps (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Auspo Scan, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Auspo Scan on devices you own or control, for personal or business purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Your content is yours

You keep all rights to everything you scan. We claim no ownership or licence over your documents. They are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us, so we have no technical means of accessing them.

Acceptable use

You are responsible for what you scan and what you do with it. You agree not to use the app to:

• copy documents you have no legal right to copy, including material protected by copyright and identity or travel documents belonging to other people;
• create or alter a document in order to pass it off as genuine, or to mislead anyone about what the original said;
• break any law that applies to you, or infringe anyone else's rights.

The watermark feature is a visual mark, not a security control. It does not encrypt, protect or authenticate a document, and it can be removed by anyone with ordinary image tools.

Scans are not certified copies

A scan produced by this app is a photograph that has been cropped and enhanced. It is not a certified, notarised or legally attested copy, and enhancement may alter the appearance of faint marks, stamps or handwriting. Where an official or original document is required, use the original.

Accuracy and no warranty

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular:

• Edge detection can be wrong. It may miss a page edge or crop one incorrectly. Always check a scan before relying on it.
• Text recognition is not exact. Recognised text may contain errors, especially with handwriting, unusual fonts, poor lighting or damaged pages. Do not rely on it without checking it against the original.
• The app is not a backup service. Scans live only on your device. Losing, resetting or uninstalling can lose them permanently. Keep your own copies of anything important.

Advertising

The app is free and supported by advertising served by Google AdMob. Ads appear around the app's screens and never over your documents. Advertisers and ad networks are third parties; we do not endorse what they advertise and are not responsible for their content or for what happens if you follow an ad. Where the law requires it you are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change that choice in the app's settings.

The Remove-ads purchase

• Remove ads is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Google Play. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
• It turns ads off in this app for the Google account that made the purchase. You can restore it on a new device or after reinstalling from Settings → Restore purchase.
• Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. We do not process payments and never see your card details.
• Removing ads does not add features or change how your documents are handled; everything else in the app stays the same.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Auspo Apps is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Third-party services

Where the app hands a file to another app, printer or cloud provider at your request, that service's own terms and privacy policy govern what happens next. We are not responsible for third-party services.

Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. We may update these terms; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of your own country of residence.
