Privacy Policy — Habitual
Last updated: 11 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Habitual app, listed on Google Play as
Habit Tracker (package com.auspo.habit.tracker, the “App”),
published by Auspo Apps (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use it.
- You do not create an account, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or contacts.
- What you track stays on your phone. Habits, tasks, notes, reminders and your whole completion history live in a local database. We do not upload or back any of it up.
- The App is free and supported by ads. It shows ads, reports crashes, records anonymous usage statistics and fetches remote settings, and it can send reminder notifications. Those services are run by Google and are listed in full below.
- None of them receives your habits, your notes or your history.
Information stored on your device
Everything you enter is stored in a local database and local preferences on your device only, and is not sent to us:
- Habits and tasks — their names, notes, categories, colours and icons.
- How each one is measured — simple done/not-done, a numeric target, or a timed target in minutes.
- Schedules — the days, intervals or per-week and per-month targets on which a habit repeats, and due dates for one-off tasks.
- Completion history — every tick, part-completion and skipped day, which is what the calendar, the streaks and the habit score are calculated from.
- Checklists and progress — items inside a task, and whether it is not started, in progress, completed or halted.
- Reminder times — the time of day you choose for each habit or task.
- Preferences — your theme choice and which prompts you have already seen.
Because this data lives only on your device, clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App deletes it permanently. We cannot see it and we cannot restore it.
Information collected by third-party services
The App includes the following services. All but the last are provided by Google and may collect information automatically when you use the App, under Google's Privacy Policy. What you track is never included.
- Google AdMob — shows the banner and occasional full-screen ads that keep the App free. AdMob collects your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device model and operating system, and information about the ads you are shown and interact with, and may use the advertising identifier to personalise ads. See how Google uses information from AdMob.
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage statistics, such as which screens are used and which features are popular, so we can improve the App.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports with technical details about your device (model, OS version) and what the App was doing when it crashed.
- Firebase Remote Config — fetches settings so we can adjust the App without shipping an update.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — issues a push notification token for your installation so we can send occasional messages.
- Firebase Authentication — signs your installation in anonymously. This creates a random identifier for the installation that the analytics and crash services share. It holds no name, email address or other personal detail, and you are never asked to log in.
- Google Play In-App Review — shows the Play Store's own rating prompt inside the App after you have used it for a while.
- Google Play Billing — handles the optional one-time Pro purchase. Google processes the payment under its own terms; the App never sees your card, bank or UPI details.
- RevenueCat — verifies a Pro purchase with Google Play and remembers that your installation has it, so it can be restored on another phone signed in with the same Google account. RevenueCat receives the Play purchase token, a random app user identifier, and your device model, operating system and App version, under RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy. It is the only service in the App not provided by Google.
The App bundles no other analytics, attribution or advertising SDK — no Mixpanel and no Meta SDK. There is no subscription; Pro is a single purchase.
Permissions the App requests
- Notifications — to deliver the reminders you set. You can decline, or turn them off later in your device settings; the App works the same without them, but reminders will not arrive.
- Alarms and reminders — the App schedules each reminder as an exact alarm so it fires at the minute you chose rather than whenever the system next wakes. Android treats this as a separate permission; if it is not granted, the App falls back to an inexact alarm and the reminder may arrive late.
- Run at startup — alarms are cleared when a phone restarts, so the App re-registers your reminders after a reboot. It does nothing else at startup.
- Vibration — to buzz with a reminder notification.
- Internet and network state — for the services listed above. The App has no server of its own and makes no other network requests.
- Advertising ID — read by AdMob to serve and measure ads.
The App requests no access to your storage, photos, camera, contacts, calendar or location.
Advertising
The App is free and paid for by advertising. Buying Pro, a one-time purchase, removes the ads permanently. Ads may be personalised using your advertising identifier; you can reset or delete that identifier, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads. The advertising services never receive what you track.
Children
Habitual is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us at auspoapps@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
- Turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, or remove a reminder from the habit itself.
- Reset or delete your advertising identifier, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device's Google settings.
- Delete an individual habit, task or day's entry inside the App, or clear the App's storage or uninstall it to remove everything at once.
- Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information relating to you. Because we operate no accounts and hold no directly identifying information ourselves, most such requests concern the Google services listed above. Email us and we will help where we can.
- We do not sell personal information.
Data retention and security
We ourselves hold no copy of your content; it exists only on your device. Information collected by the services above is retained according to their published policies. All network traffic from the App uses encrypted connections, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles data, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
